Co-Lin, Mississippi State University sign new agreement for online students
Copiah-Lincoln Community College and Mississippi State University recently signed an agreement to benefit Co-Lin’s online students that transfer to Mississippi State. MSU President Dr. Mark Keenum visited Co-Lin’s Wesson Campus to sign the MSU/Co-Lin Seamless Transfer Agreement for Online Programs with Co-Lin President Dr. Jane Hulon.
“We want to ensure our online students feel supported at the same level of any other student, and this transfer agreement allows one more way for us to do that,” said Co-Lin Director of eLearning Dr. Amanda Hood. “It also provides an opportunity for any student who may not be able to physically attend MSU to take advantage of their diverse and growing set of online degrees.”
The unique partnership allows students who earn their Associate in Arts Degree at Co-Lin to transfer to MSU for their Bachelor of Science Degree without leaving our community. It aims to serve students who want to earn their bachelor’s degree but may have work, family, or other commitments that keep them from traveling to attend school at Mississippi State. Instead, students will be able to complete their degree through online courses from the convenience of their home.
"We are thrilled to partner with MSU focusing on creative and innovative opportunities that support and encourage student success and educational advancement," said Dean of Academic Instruction Dr. Stephanie Duguid.
Students may earn their bachelor’s degree in one of seven undergraduate online programs at MSU: business administration, elementary education, geoscience, history, industrial technology, interdisciplinary studies, and psychology.
“Co-Lin is excited to strengthen its partnership with Mississippi State University to support the seamless transfer process between the two institutions,” said Co-Lin President Dr. Jane Hulon.
