Co-Lin Students attend 10th APEX Summit

Six members of Copiah-Lincoln Community College’s student recruitment team, the Trailblazers, participated in the 10th Annual Community College APEX Leadership Summit held recently at the University of Mississippi. Students from statewide community colleges participated in leadership training sessions throughout the weekend.

Trailblazers Pollyanna Patterson and Fisher Warren, both of Brookhaven; Anna Brooke Davis of Smithdale, Harmoni Ashley and Kaylan Smith, both of Wesson; and Corbin Lester of Ruth attended the summit with Leah Greer, college recruiter and Trailblazer sponsor.

“This program gave students a chance to meet other student leaders from around the state while spending time on the Ole Miss campus,” said Greer. According to Greer, the program featured leadership development, team building, social ethics, social responsibility, problem-solving, developing a leadership resume, and community outreach.

The Ole Miss staff and student leaders supervised the team-building sessions. Students also had an opportunity to participate in the Rebel Challenge Ropes Course and attended information meetings with various Ole Miss academic programs.
