Early Childhood Academy to offer workshop
Co-Lin's Early Childhood Academy will host a Make and Take Workshop presented by Mary Jo Huff on April 21, 2018, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The workshop will be at the Co-Lin Natchez Campus Redd Watkins Career-Technical Building in the Nelson Multipurpose Room and is offered at no cost to participants. This free workshop is open to all child care providers and will have 6 contact hours.
Mary Jo Huff is a nationally known speaker, consultant, and trainer. She is an author, master storyteller, songwriter, and puppeteer who works in early childhood education with a passion for literacy and storytelling. Her workshops provide immediate applicability to the curriculum from Pre-K to 5th grade students.
The Make and Take Workshop will incorporate hands-on activities. Participants will learn how to make a talking puppet, books, hats, and spring connections like a tree, nest, and planting pot. All projects are designed for the participants to take back to utilized at their child care centers.
The Co-Lin Early Childhood Academy serves Adams, Copiah, Franklin, Jefferson, Lawrence, Lincoln, and Simpson counties. The ECA offers childcare providers and families the opportunity to check out a variety of age-appropriate, instructional aids, books, and/or software as well as professional development and technical assistance opportunities to childcare providers.
