Co-Lin’s Eta Omega Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa claimed first place honors in College Project at the annual Phi Theta Kappa MS/LA Regional Conference held at The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg.

The Eta Omega Chapter also received Most Outstanding Newsletter, first place in Website, and second place in Digital Yearbook. The advisor team won Most Distinguished Chapter Advisors and chapter co-advisor Tiffany Perryman received the Horizon Award for the region.

Eta Omega Chapter officers are Rainee Luper of Ruth, President; Brenda Brown of Brookhaven, Vice President for Communication; Nikki Castilaw of Florence, Vice President for Scholarship; Millane Lewis of Brookhaven, Vice President for Membership; Gracie Byrne of Brookhaven, Vice President for Web Design; Morgan Wallis of Brookhaven, Vice President for Service; Alex Hamilton of Florence, Vice President for Research; and Kelsi Baldwin of Florence, Vice President of Leadership.

Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, headquartered in Jackson, Mississippi, is the largest honor society in higher education with 1,285 chapters on college campuses in all 50 of the United States, Canada, Germany, the Republic of Palau, Peru, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, the British Virgin Islands, the United Arab Emirates, and U.S. territorial possessions. More than 3 million students have been inducted since it’s founding in 1918, with approximately 134,000 students inducted annually. Tiffany Perryman, Samantha Speeg, and Mary Warren serve as advisors for the group.
