Co-Lin sophomore Harmoni Ashley of Wesson was chosen as one of only four students across the nation to receive a $4,000 Mu Alpha Theta Scholarship. Ashley serves as Vice President of Membership for the college’s Mu Alpha Theta chapter. Scholarship recipients were selected based on academic excellence, leadership ability, loyalty to Mu Alpha Theta, and service to community projects. 

Mu Alpha Theta is the mathematics honor society for high school and two-year college students. The organization of mathematics clubs serves over 113,500 student members in more than 2,300 schools in the United States and 20 foreign countries. Mu Alpha Theta is dedicated to inspiring an interest in mathematics, developing strong scholarship in the subject, and promoting the enjoyment of mathematics.

Ashley also serves as Vice President of Service for the Eta Omega of Phi Theta Kappa and Vice President of Student Government Association. She is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Leadership Team, the Baptist Student Union, the Council of Presidents, and the Lady Wolves Softball team. Ashley was selected as Who’s Who at Copiah-Lincoln Community College and elected Miss Co-Lin by her peers. She is the daughter of Larry Ashley and Rhonda Ashley.
