The Co-Lin Alumni Association recently honored five outstanding faculty and staff members during the annual fall convocation held on the Wesson Campus. Those honored from the Wesson Campus were Corey Hart, Penny Hartley and Carey Williamson. Janice Jarvis was recognized for the Natchez Campus, and Nicole Cheramie was the Simpson County Center honoree.

Cheramie was selected as Outstanding Faculty/Staff member for the Simpson County Center. She is director of student services and a public speaking instructor. She is a 2011 graduate of Co-Lin and holds a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. She serves as a youth leader at Church Alive in Magee and a board member of Renew 96.9 FM radio station in Magee and Collins. She is a former member of the Lady Wolves tennis team and was selected for Co-Lin’s Hall of Fame in 2011. She and her husband, Tyler, have one son: Jude, age three.

Hart was selected as Outstanding Staff Member for the Wesson Campus. He is the media production coordinator at Co-Lin. He is a 2006 graduate of Co-Lin, and he holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of New Orleans. He has won numerous awards for his video productions from the College Public Relations Association of Mississippi.

Hartley was selected as Outstanding Academic Instructor for the Wesson Campus where she is an English instructor. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and French from Delta State University, a Master of Arts in English from the University of Alabama, and a Master of Education in school counseling from the University of South Alabama. She is a member of First Baptist Church in Hazlehurst and is a life member of Junior Auxiliary of Copiah County. She and her husband, Scott, have two children, Alexis and Bryce.

Jarvis was selected as Outstanding Faculty/Staff Member for the Natchez Campus. She serves as the director of SOAR, a student support services program. She has a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Services and a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from Southern University and A&M College. She holds a community employment services certification from Auburn University and an employment specialist certification from the University of North Texas. She is also a certified rehabilitation counselor. She is a member of Chapel Baptist Church in Woodville.

Williamson was selected as Outstanding Career-Technical Instructor for the Wesson Campus. He is the program coordinator for the Electronics Engineering Technology program. He attended Co-Lin before transferring and graduating from Meridian Community College. He is a member of Easthaven Baptist Church. He and his wife, Celeste, have three children: Audrey, Nathan, and Leslie.
