Professional Licensure
As of July 1, 2020, federal regulations require Title IV institutions to provide certain professional licensure disclosures to enrolled students and prospective students. Some of the degree programs available at Co-Lin can lead to professional licensure. Earning a degree from Co-Lin in any of these programs prepares the student to become licensed to work in Mississippi. However, there may be additional requirements if the student wishes to work outside of Mississippi. Co-Lin attempts to identify and notify any student for whom this may occur, but if you are considering one of these programs and plan to apply for licensure outside of Mississippi, please contact the respective licensing board in that state.
In order to reduce duplication of effort and to ensure system-wide compliance with federal requirements and the NC-SARA, the community colleges of Mississippi agreed to collaborate to develop the Professional Licensure webpage. Please visit this page to research the requirements in your current or intended state of residence to determine whether the Co-Lin program will meet your state’s educational requirements. It may be necessary to reach out to state agencies with questions or clarification.
If you have questions regarding any program that is not listed on the Professional Licensure Disclosures webpage, please email StateAuthorization@colin.edu.
